Old Time & Bluegrass Tunes

Old time and bluegrass music works beautifully on Irish tenor banjo, and the stylistic adaptations needed to play it well benefit your overall technique and flexibility. In this course you'll learn about cross picking, old time rhythms, some chord theory and ornamentation like pull offs, hammer ons and slides.
Every tune starts with a fully transcribed, slow version of the basic melody, making it easy to follow and learn. I teach in a step-by-step, graduated fashion, with each lesson building on the previous one. As we progress, I introduce ornamentation, chords, and variations, ensuring you master each element before moving forward. Along the way, I provide detailed explanations of techniques and address any musical challenges that arise, helping you build confidence and skill with every tune.
